spring 3 dbl 5

Artist statement - I worked more this week with brightness to emulate a certain vibe. I used shadows to highlight the darkness to blend with the light. Then I used contrast to blend the images together. The brightness and darkness brought the images characteristics to the most because the darkness and light is brought out. The contrast brought out brings out color in the image that gives a mellow and happy feel.

spring 2 dbl expo 5 img

Artist statement - Same technique as spring one. Tried to mix images better. I also attempted to make more coherent images. My personal favorite is the one with the apples. Its a really coherent photo in my opinion.

spring 1 5 images dbl expo

Artist statement -

In this weeks work I tried to blend images together. No portraits blended with city images just objects blended with city images. This worked really well and looked good. I used different saturation and exposure with some of the images and I worked with black and whites. I used toning to make some images look glum and some happy. This was incorporated with these images. I also used saturation and contrast to help blend the object into the background. In the flower photo I upped the saturation to make the flower blend with the tree and it turned out looking good. I can see the tree clashing with the flower when they over lap. This comes out as being black.

class portraits 1

Francesca used double exposure to blend one image of a persons face with an animal image. She used a different frame than this and didn't blend as much as I did. The faces in hers weren't that easy to see.

Brannon used this style from his winter project by making it look like objects were from a commercial or fashion magazine. This photo of his hand imitates this and is why I choose the black and white.

Laurel in her winter 4 blended two images together. She used a city scape and a portrait to make one coherent image.

In Elliott's winter 4 he took photos and used black and white. This portrait is him in a black and white background to bring out his silhouette.
In Jackson's project he lowered exposure and took a photo around a light source to get a blacked out image. This is what I did here in this portrait.

winter 4

Goals - The goals of this edition/week of my winter project was to take cohesive photos that followed the style of Uta Barth. I tried to make each photo not too blurry and not too in focus. I also tried to edit these so they would follow various photography rules. Lighting and exposure was also edited.

Vibe - The vibe of these photos are mysterious and an all around unknowing of what is happening in each photo. There is also a feeling of open endedness to perceive each photo in its own way.

Approach - I tried to have a blurry photo that wasn't too much in focus. Photos with good lighting and shapes in the frame.

Evolution of project - The project has evolved because I have more experience taking photos in Uta Barths style. So, my photos may be better than they would have been at the start of the project.

Winter 3

Statement

vibe - The vibe of these photos are whatever the viewer views them as. I could see them differently from another person. Vibes can be seen differently. The way I see these photos is just a ball of blur and nothingness. I see them as a bunch of nothing photos to be completely honest. They just don't mean anything to me and have no significance. Thats the vibe I get from them.

approach - My approach was to go outside and unfocus the lense to take a blurry out of focus photo. Pretty straight forward and not many questions can be asked about the approach to these photos. One doesn't need to make much approach. The photo cant be too blurry or too in focus.

Goals - The goals of these photos were to be culturally accepted by Sansei/Mr. Whiton. I am not very experienced so one goal may have been for these to come out nicely.

Evolution of project - The evolution of this "project" can't be described from my view of things. I've just been trying my best to take photos in Uta Barths style. Either than that there is not much more to say. These photos are also very mysterious.
