Goals - The goals of this assignment was to capture a state of emotion, portrait and background in this composition. I tried to blend the background with the portrait so the portrait would be in the sky mostly the face. Another goal was to come close to the level of perfection that Jasper James double exposure has while using just a compact camera. I also tried my best to use the eraser application in picmonkey to take away as much of the background in the portrait as possible.
Tone/vibe - The tone of these photos is filled with one emotion. Some can be seen as a subtle happiness to pure confidence. I tried to keep a vibe of hope and someone fading into the future and looking to the future or the viewer of the photo.
Recipe - The recipe of all these photos is two images blended together. One image is a background of the city including the sky which is where I place the portrait. This go around I tried to take pictures of only the face, some include a little bit of the chest. I then enlarged the portrait to fit in the sky and blended them together. On the background I took up the brightness, lowered the darkness and took up the contrast.

ReplyDeleteGood job again this week Eli. I like how you incorporate some sort of sky or skyline in the pictures. These remind me very much of Jasper James' work. There's not much else to say besides keep it up.

ReplyDeleteEli, you created really interesting photos were you overlapped the enivornment with a portrait. I would suggest that the environment you take pictures of is formatted correctly because many of the images are not centered with the portraits. I don't have any other comments for how to improve. Great job this week.
